I’ve always had a deep passion for travelling and discovering new places and creating memories. One way to get the most out of life, is to look upon it as an adventure, and I realized that adventures are the best way to learn. I travelled to more than 15 different countries across most continents, but my favorites by far were South Africa, Cost Rica, Hong Kong and Macau.

South Africa to me resembles friendly people, amazing food and wildlife.  The scenery is fabulous and I was even told that only one square meter of their forest has the largest variation of plants in the world.  The 2 most memorable activities and adventures I lived there, were bungee jumping and cage diving with great white sharks- talk about adrenaline rush! My jump was from 216 meters high and was sensational, while the dive, let’s just say I got yelled at for keeping my arm out, which could’ve got eaten by a shark!!!

Costa Rica was all about hiking and staying outdoors, sightseeing and experiencing life from a completely different point on the planet. Even though I only stayed in Costa Rica for 4 days, I got to see La Fortuna waterfalls which is Central Costa Rica in Alajuela Province. In Spanish, it is known as Catarata Fortuna. The waterfall drops about 70−75 meters and is at the base of the dormant Chato volcano, about 5.5 km outside of the town of La Fortuna, near the Arenal Volcano. I took a hike up to see the Arenal Volcano, one of Costa Rica’s most notable natural features. Although the volcano entered into a resting phase in 2010, it was still a stunning sight. There were so many activities there– including whitewater rafting, waterfall rappelling and hiking.

Macau which was a Portuguese territory until 1999, reflects a mix of cultural influences. Its giant casinos and malls, have earned it the nickname, “Las Vegas of Asia.” One of its more striking landmarks is 338m-high Macau Tower, with sweeping city views. To be honest I went to Macau just to experience the world’s highest bungee jump – 233 meters. It was so worth it!

Hong Kong is like stepping into New York, it’s all about skyscrapers, designer stores, fancy restaurants, and yes of course, some great historical sight-seeing. The Buddha temple was my favorite, since regardless of your faith or beliefs, I felt it was one of the most peaceful and serene places anyone can visit. The thing I noticed most about the people in Hong Kong was their immense respect for elders and children, as if they never want to lose connection between their past and their future.
