I traveled to Georgia as a global volunteer with AIESEC, the well-known youth volunteering non-profit organization.
From Cairo, I took a super jet to Hurghada airport, where I spent 5 hours before taking off, which was an amazing experience. I got the chance to see the beautiful Egyptian desert and mountains of peaceful Sinai, then I spent some time in El Gouna. I was lucky enough to see the sunrise on the icebergs of Georgia from the airplane. I took a cab from Tbilisi International Airport to Kutaisi, which is 4 hours away. The mountains and the trees along the way were breathtaking.

I stayed with a host family, who were very friendly and courteous. I adored the Black Sea beach, where I felt that there was a new meaning to the color blue. The reflection of the mountains on the water was divine.
Meeting the people of Georgia was my favorite thing along the journey. They were super friendly and helpful.
As for the food, it was good, but I couldn’t find Halal meat easily there. I used to go Iraqi and Turkish restaurants to eat meat. The fresh juices were great too. However, I don’t consider myself much of a “foodie”, but rather I enjoy the company more than the food. Georgian Cuisines were extraordinary, but since I lead a healthy lifestyle, I felt that it was too overwhelming for my palette at times.

I will surely visit Georgia again, and I would advise everyone to go because it is a global tourist hot spot, rich in spectacular scenery, and its not an expensive destination.
