In 2013, I moved to the United Arab Emirates where I worked for 4 years. I was not surprised that there were a lot of Filipinos living in the UAE. I stayed in a flat along with my Filipino co-workers. They became my family while I was away from my son and my mom. My flat mates were all nice and we always cooked, enjoyed singing, and had fun together.
I want to share with you my favorite place in the UAE, Jumeirah beach. Whenever I felt homesick and wanted to unwind I went there to have fun, swim or just sit and watch the sunset.
I enjoyed exploring the food and my favorite was Shawarma. Biryani really caught my taste buds, so I also consider it as one of my favorites. I loved eating Tabouleh, Fattoush, and Hummus. To be honest I truly miss their delicacies.
Before I went back to the Philippines, I told myself that I wanted to experience Sky diving with an aerial view of Dubai. I was excited the whole time especially when I was in the plane before jumping off. It really was a once in a lifetime experience that I will cherish forever.
I’ve learned a lot about different cultures, languages, and various aspects from different nationalities.
I would highly recommend this place to my friends for its beautiful tourist attractions, authentic delicacies, and its guaranteed safe environment. Its best to visit Dubai between November to March. However, if you’re the type of person who loves to shop then January is the best time to visit, as it’s Dubai’s Shopping Festival month for you to enjoy big discounts!
If I was given a chance, I will surely visit Dubai again. Not for work, but for vacation.
