“Developing Others” usually ranks dead last on just about every organizational skill level survey, except at Centro!
At Centro our history proves how well we live that core value.
- Almost 80% of our management staff were promoted from within.
- We provide training programs to get agents into management.
- We constantly provide training for management.
If you’re in a position of influence and can help develop a Centroee, here are some things you can do:
- Start with an accurate picture of the person’s strengths and weaknesses. They can’t grow if they don’t have good information about themselves.
- Get ongoing feedback from multiple sources. The key words here are ongoing and multiple.
- Give first-time tasks that stretch people. No one grows from doing the same thing more and more.
- Build a learner mentality. Encourage your people to think of themselves as professional learners
- Use coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments to promote and reinforce learning and development.
- Don’t forget: One of the byproducts of developing your people: you gain satisfaction and stature as a result of their success.
