Dear Centroees in Winchester, Manila, Fairfax and Cairo,

Values are what we, as members in the Centro family, should not only believe in but LIVE through them. Let’s shed a light on one value at a time. This month we talk about our Second Value .. HELP PEOPLE DEVELOP

“Developing Others” usually ranks dead last on just about every organizational skill level survey, except at Centro!

At Centro our history proves how well we live that core value.

  • Almost 80% of our management staff were promoted from within.
  • We provide training programs to get agents into management.
  • We constantly provide training for management.

If you’re in a position of influence and can help develop a Centroee, here are some things you can do:

  1. Start with an accurate picture of the person’s strengths and weaknesses. They can’t grow if they don’t have good information about themselves.
  2. Get ongoing feedback from multiple sources. The key words here are ongoing and multiple.
  3. Give first-time tasks that stretch people. No one grows from doing the same thing more and more.
  4. Build a learner mentality. Encourage your people to think of themselves as professional learners
  5. Use coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments to promote and reinforce learning and development.
  6. Don’t forget: One of the byproducts of developing your people: you gain satisfaction and stature as a result of their success.
