“If it weren’t for the challenges that I faced I wouldn’t be where I am right now”

My journey as Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist was never easy. There’s a lot of pressure, deadlines and requirements to do, since we need to meet a certain target. It was somehow difficult for me to cope. Thankfully, I had people backing me up that have been very supportive. My previous recruitment manager never stopped cheering me up to keep going.
Mr. Noshi, who was our Site Manager here in the Manila, often told me that everything is going to fall in place and I just need to stay focused. Whenever he heard me saying “Hay naku!” (Words we frequently use to express frustrations), he always used to tell me “Don’t be afraid, you are doing the right thing”, or “Just do what you think is best, I believe in you”.
Right now, I am still dealing with a lot more changes and challenges, but I am positive enough that I can conquer all of those, because I am certain that I will keep on meeting good people every step of the way.
Though some of those who have helped me in my journey in Centro already left, I have found new people who support me in this new chapter of my career.
Like my Senior Manager of People Operations, Mr. Mina, who’s guiding and pushing me in my new journey. He’s not just a manager to me, but he is also a good friend.
Also, Mr. Victor, from Service Delivery team and overseeing our Philippines site, who always assists me especially in Recruitment. He would often ask me if there’s anything that he can offer to make my life easier, or will just simply say “Smile Lyn, smile”.
If it weren’t for the challenges that I faced I wouldn’t be where I am right now, it’s because of those risks that I took that helped me nurture my skills and knowledge.
Those hardships I’ve been through in the span of my 9 months, proves what being a true Centroee means – it’s being capable despite of the severity of the situation.
There might be a lot more struggles to face in the future, but if you just keep on believing that you are capable of doing things, and if you have these wonderful people around you, you will be unstoppable in achieving your dreams.
