My parents taught me that in order to follow your dreams, you had to work hard and keep your chin up. I have been living and working in Winchester, Virginia for my whole life.

After graduating high school with an advanced diploma, I started pursuing my Bachelor’s in Business Administration with Liberty University’s online program and I was also working a very successful career in banking.

I was exactly where I had planned to be, then the unspeakable happened. In April of 2012, I lost my father and my world almost stopped. My father and I were very close. I was what many people would call a daddy’s girl. I moved back in to my childhood home after living on my own for five years.

I had to make the choice to leave school to help take care of my mother who needed almost constant surveillance and I eventually left my banking job due to balancing the stress of the job, my home life, and my grief.

My mom eventually started becoming able to function without me around and I was able to move out on my own again and start looking for a job. After a few years of dead end jobs and no real outlook on my future, I finally decided that my dad would want me to be happy and successful.

I found Centro Global Solutions while looking at job advertisements. I went into the interview with a positive attitude and left that day knowing that Centro would be my next adventure.I started my career with Centro looking for an opportunity to better myself.

After a lot of hard work and self-improvement, I was promoted from an agent to People and Performance after only a couple of months. More recently, I have also enrolled back into school and will be taking classes as Old Dominion University starting in the spring.

I have taken my role in People and Performance very seriously and I will be completing my Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management. I learned a lot from what I went through. I went from being a success young business woman to unemployed and seemingly futureless to where I am now.

Centro has given me the opportunity to shine and use the skills I have worked so hard to obtain. I have been humbled yet motivated by my experiences. Bad things happen to everyone. Don’t let it define who you are. Understand that a bad day, week, month, even year does not mean a bad life. Once you realize that, you can’t help but be positive.
