Moving to a new town, an unfamiliar place before the start of senior year to a teenager is like the end of the world. In the mind of a teen your friends are everything and your life will end if you don’t complete every step of life with them. Fast forward five months and she survived. Tanyah, my beautiful daughter, has been able to move to a new state without her friends and at seventeen she was able to graduate from school in December, 5 months earlier than her friends, with a 3.6 GPA and a number of acceptance letters into college. Now the hard decision she has to make is choosing between Bowie State University and Garrett College both in Maryland. To say I’m proud of her would be an understatement to be able to adapt to change, work a part time job and accomplish so much in a short amount of time. I am beyond ecstatic to see where this life will take her. I know that all of her hard work and dedication will show in all of the achievements she accomplishes. She has made me extremely proud to be her mother and I am overjoyed to share all of this excitement with her.
